​Because of Dennis Corcoran’s 35 years experience in parish ministry and management the main initiative is “The Successful Pastor”. When Bishop’s and Priest Personnel boards are transitioning a new Pastor with good “priestly ministry” into a parish, there will be strategic management decisions in the first year of ministry that set the tone for future success. Dennis will coach and plan with the new Pastor to ensure success. Developing lay leadership, engaging young families and “smelling like the sheep” are critical to either being a pastor who builds a gospel-based, Catholic, Eucharistic community, or puts out fires all day long for 12 years and scatters the sheep.
 
Dennis holds a master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry and Church Leadership from Boston College and participated in the growth of Presentation Parish, Upper Saddle River from 800 families to 5,000 in his tenure and Christ the King, New Vernon from 700 to 1,100. In the beginning, Dennis will consult with only five to six pastors per year with The Successful Pastor Initiative.
